Because I've only just realised how to make sticky posts ...
- journal is semi-friends only

fictional confessions of fact
It's interesting living in an exploding house. It's not like you're continually wary, waiting for the next explosion. It's more like you forget about the previous one, so when the next one comes along, you're surprised all over again and the bits of your room that always crack crack all over again, over and over. And when you put them back up again, the sticky tape gathers dirt, but you don't notice, so maybe it becomes a bit of a shock when one lazy Saturday afternoon someone screams out 'I won't change.'

hey it's romeo, you nearly gave me a heart attack
- How shall I put this? I have huge issues with David Shore at the moment. And because I can't be bothered giving my rant again, I'm just copying and pasting the rant I just left [info]tiflissa:

"See, if he were just shooting down the [House/Cameron] ship, I wouldn't have so much of a problem with it. But it's also that line where he goes "sometimes the fans think they know what they want, but what they want isn't what they need or what the show needs" which pissed me off no end. It's that blatant lack of respect to the fans who MADE YOUR SHOW BIG TO BEGIN WITH, jerk. And there's also the thing where I disagree that he's explored the exducklings to their max potential. Seriously. That guy does NOT know character development. And the summaries of the upcoming episodes sound like soaps. What the hell has happened to my show???"

This situation is so serious that I am considering changing my mood theme. I know. :P  I did it. *cue gasp* and this has nothing to do with the fact that I've been wanting to anyway.

- watched Bridget Jones' Diary 2 because it's fun and I want a Mark Darcy please. I'm serious - how incredibly perfect patient is that man?

- I want to write Dr Who or House fanfic before the week is up. So if you're bored:
1) Give me Dr Who speculation about season 4
or
2) Give me Chase or Cameron storylines/backstory that David Shore has completely overlooked & probably has no intention of ever touching again (or just something you'd like explored)
and I'll try to write something up from it. Or just, you know, comment on your astuteness and squee.

there is then, a world immune from change
“I see the sky, softly feathered with its sudden effulgence of moon. I also see the railings of the square, and two people without faces, leaning like statues against the sky. There is then, a world immune from change. When I have passed through this drawing-room flickering with tongues that cut me like knives, making me stammer, making me lie, I find faces rid of features, robed in beauty. The lovers crouch under the plane tree. The policeman stands sentinel at the corner. A man passes. There is, then, a world immune from change. But I am not composed enough, standing on tiptoe on the verge of fire, still scorched by the hot breath, afraid of the door opening and the leap of the tiger, to make even one sentence. What I say is perpetually contradicted. Each time the door opens I am interrupted. I am not yet twenty-one. I am to be broken. I am to be derided all my life. I am to be cast up and down among these men and women, with their twitching faces, with their lying tongues, like a cork on a rough sea. Like a ribbon of weed I am flung far every time the door opens. The wave breaks. I am the foam that sweeps and fills the uttermost rims of the rocks with whiteness; I am also a girl, here in this room.” – p80

there's no reason to believe
I've finished Ulysses. Finally. *collapses into a heap of goo* And I guess I know I'm going to have to read it again to understand it completely, but right now, I'm just so tired. It takes up so much thought-power, and I can't really tell you how many times I've gotten lost in it. But I suppose that's part of its appeal - the language used is sometimes so exquisite that it's just fun to get lost in. But other times it's so taxing, and it's just finding that comfortable niche in the ... brain power scale ... that makes it all right.

... I don't know if I'm making sense. I also don't know if I'm mature enough to understand the book. But I guess I'll just keep trying. :)

A couple of quotes that I loved for the language and the pictures they conjured up:

solitary. )

to be with my lover upon christmas day
I have The Stowaway! *explodes with excitement* Lyrics are under the cut and ... it's really good too. Question to anyone who might know - was this actually played during 'Voyage of the Damned' - how do we know its connection to Astrid? (apart from the fact that it's quite blindingly obvious, just ... being cautious - look, [info]drunkendreams , I can be cautious too! :P)
